Rough-In
The stage of construction when systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) are installed but not yet finished or covered up.
Rough-in is everything inside the walls before drywall: water lines stubbed out but no fixtures, wiring pulled but no outlets installed, HVAC trunks run but no grilles. Inspections happen here so the building department can verify what's about to be hidden.
Once drywall goes up, mistakes get expensive fast. Triple-check pre-drywall.
