Waste Factor
The percentage of extra material added to an order to account for cuts, valleys, hips, and mistakes during install.
A simple gable roof might run 10% waste. A complex roof with lots of valleys, dormers, and hip cuts can hit 15-18%. The same logic applies to flooring, siding, drywall, and any sheet-based material.
Running short mid-job costs far more in time, fuel, and customer trust than a few extra bundles.
