Job chat (crew thread on a job)

One internal chat per job. Owner + admins + employees on the job + subs on the job all see it. Different from customer messages and per-sub threads.

Job chat is the internal crew thread for a single job. Anyone working that job sees it and can post: the owner, privileged admins, employees assigned to the job, and subs assigned to the job (if they have view access). Think "Slack channel for this one job" — quick coordination like "running 30 late, leave the gate open," "need a second pallet of shingles by 1pm," "FYI homeowner is on vacation." Where it lives JobDetail page (the office view) — in the Crew tab right under "Assigned to" Krew view (employee mobile dashboard) — in the selected job panel Sub view (sub portal) — in the selected job's detail How it's different from other message surfaces Customer conversation (the email/SMS thread on the Customer tab): the customer is on it. Sub and crew chat are NOT visible to the customer. Per-(sub, job) thread on the JobDetail Subs section: just you and one sub, bilateral. For negotiating scope or payment privately. Job chat : broadcast to everyone on the job. Use it for coordination updates. How it works Type a message in the box → hit Send. Everyone on the job sees it the next time they open the page (or within 20 seconds via auto-poll if they're already on it). Your own messages appear right-aligned in brand orange. Everyone else's appears left-aligned in grey. Each message shows the sender's name + role (owner / admin / employee / sub) + timestamp. 4000 character cap per message. Use it for short updates, not novels. Privacy The customer NEVER sees job chat. If you need to message the customer, use the Customer tab's email/text composer. If you need to negotiate something with one sub privately, use the per-sub thread on the Subs section.
